ListeningAssistant (ver3.2.0) English Guide

 1. Overview


ListeningAssistant is a playback-only player. It features functions suitable for repeating listening materials, playing long-duration data such as novels or speeches, and can also be used as a regular music player.




Main Features:
- Freely change playback speed.
- Easily rewind or fast forward by specifying any number of seconds.
- Save playback position and speed (Bookmark feature).
- Sleep timer.
- Lyric display (set as "Custom Lyrics").
- Repeat playback (by track, by group).
- Video display for music videos.

2. Playback Targets

The playback targets are music data synced to devices like the iPhone. The following are not targets for playback:
- Songs that exist only in the cloud (e.g., only on iCloud).
- Data other than music (voice memos, audiobooks).


3. Main Screens

1) Main Menu


Overview:

Playback menu for music data. Navigate through menu taps.
(e.g., Playlist > List of Playlists > List of Songs in Selected Playlist > Playback Screen of Selected Song)

- Playlist: Navigate to the list of playlists.
- Artist: Navigate to the list of artists.
- Album: Navigate to the list of albums.
- Track Search: Navigate to the track search screen.
- Podcasts: Navigate to the list screen of downloaded podcasts.
- Bookmarks: Navigate to the list of saved playlists.

Bottom Bar:

- Play Button: Play or stop the selected track.
- Track Display Area: Tap to display the playback screen.

Tabs:

- Home: Main menu.
- Now Playing: List of albums or tracks currently playing.
- Lyrics: Display lyrics of the playing track.
- Settings: Operation option settings screen.
- Help: Version, help information.




2) Playback Screen


Overview:

Screen for controlling playback of music and videos.
- Artist Name, Album Name: Tap to navigate to their respective selection screens.
- Repeat Playback: Specify repeat playback by track or group (album, playlist, etc.).
- Playback Speed: Normal = 1.0, smaller = slower, larger = faster.
- Skip: Change the seconds for fast forward and rewind.
- Sleep Timer: Display stop time setting screen (specify any time or until the end of the playing track).

Various Buttons:

- Previous track, play/stop, next track.
- Rewind, fast forward.

Playback Support:

- Bookmark: Save current information = track, playback speed, playback position.
- Display video: Display on-screen as video if it's a music video.








3) Bookmarks


Overview:

Bookmarks function like a book's bookmark, allowing playback from a specified position within an "album" viewed as a book and "songs" as chapters. For example, save the 3rd track of an album at 45 seconds with a 1.2x playback speed and resume playback from the same spot.

This feature is convenient for listening to materials or narrated novel data over long durations and can also be used as a shortcut to frequently played tracks. Tapping a bookmark navigates to the playback screen of the selected bookmarked track.






















4) Lyrics


Overview:

Displays content set and synchronized as custom lyrics.

Long-pressing the song title displays a context menu with the following options:
- Copy title & artist name.
- Search for lyrics on the web (opens a search screen based on the set web search keywords).
  Web search keyword format: "song title artist name lyrics translation"

























5) Settings


Overview:

Screen for setting default configurations at app startup. Allows specification of the following items:

Media Settings:

- Default Genre: Specify a genre filter when displaying a list of albums.

Lyric Settings:

- Font Size: Change the font size for the lyric screen.
- Search Keywords: Keywords for web searches initiated from the lyric screen's context menu.

Rewind / Forward Settings:

- Include Previous Song: Include the previous track when rewinding.
- Default Skip Time: Seconds for rewind and fast forward.

Playback Options:

- Disable Auto-Lock During Playback: When turned on, prevents the screen from locking due to time passing during playback.
- Change Background Color During Playback: Changes the background color of the playback screen when playing or stopped.


6) Help


Version Information:

- Displays the app version.

Help:

- View Online Help: Shows the manual screen on the web via a browser.

Bookmarks:

- Delete All Bookmarks: Deletes all saved bookmarks.

Others:

- Check for Unplayable Songs: Checks and displays tracks with unknown URLs (unplayable tracks).
